The End of Summer Celebration was a joyful and meaningful close to another season of growth at the Lighthouse. The theme, “Embracing Our Future,” reflected our hope for each student to recognize their potential and take pride in how far they’ve come.
Students wrote letters to their future selves, reflecting on what they learned, what they were proud of, and what they hope to keep working toward. These letters captured their growth and reminded them of the goals they’ve set for themselves.
Each student was recognized with an award that reflected their unique strengths and accomplishments. Categories like Most Improved, Future Scientist, and Most Creative highlighted both their development and the diverse talents that make our Lighthouse community shine. One student was moved to tears after receiving the Most Improved award, sharing that she had never experienced that kind of recognition before—a powerful reminder of how meaningful it is to be seen and celebrated.
The celebration concluded with an expressive dance to Pastor Mike Jr.’s gospel song “I Got Away,” directed by enrichment instructor Russelle Pratt. Through creative movement, students expressed both their gratitude and joy, connecting with the message of the song and what it means for their own lives.
Families, staff, and supporters filled the room in encouragement as students shared their talents and celebrated those who are aging out of the program. The day reflected what the Lighthouse stands for—encouraging young people to embrace their gifts, celebrate their growth, and move forward with confidence in all that lies ahead.
Thank you for investing in the lives and futures of the children and families we serve.
